See you soon Taytay!

May 3rd was a very hard day. Around 9:30 pm we got a call from Jeannette telling us that one of Adam's best childhood friend had passed away in his sleep. Adam was under shock for a while. And so was I. I couldnt believe that Tayler was gone. We HAD to get to Utah as soon as we could. So as soon as Adam got the OK from work we packed our things up and got to Layton to see the Olsons. Quick flashback here: Adam was about 4 years old when he met the Olsons. Tayler was 2 back then. Just a baby really. Ben was Adam's best friend growing up. And Tayler was the little brother. They never lost contact. When we first got married we shared a house with Tay and that's where I get my best memories  from. Only good ones come to mind when we think about him for sure.

I stole this from Tammy's blog. It just said things perfectly.

The funeral was really beautiful.  Although Tayler wasn't really active in church the last few years, the funeral was very centered around Christ.  There was a lot of testifying of God's love for all of us, especially Tayler.  There were also a lot of laughs, and remembering the great things about Tayler.  My heart is broken, especially for Randy, Melody, Cherae, Kara, and Ben, and his cute fiancĂ©, Shannon.  I took some pictures at the cemetery and at the luncheon.  It was a sad, but beautiful day.

(Adam got ask to be a paul bearer. He told me afterwords that it was a great honor to carry Tayler to his final rest. But also a very uncomfortable, sad honor. No one wants to have to carry their friend this way)

(I wasnt going to do the flower thing...I was just watching as some of Tayler's closest friends and family gave him a last goodbye. Then Ben said to me: "Hey you better go and give Tayler a flower..." As sad as it was, it definitly confirmed that I WAS part of the Olson family. I just love that family...)

(Tayler LOVED hot sauce. The hottest the best. Needless to say that wherever we go if there's hot sauce now we have a little (or big) thought for Tay)

(Just being our goofy selves. We figured that Tayler was probably tired of us crying anyways;))

Talyer Olson's obituary:

Tayler Ross Olson born May 1, 1985 (28) in Ogden, UT., completed his mission here on earth and was called home by his gracious Heavenly Father on May 3rd.  Tay loved his family and friends and he never let an opportunity pass to let them know.  He was always the first to call on birthdays, mother’s day or any random Tuesday letting you know he loved you and was thinking about you.  His family loved his quiet nature and enormous giving heart.  Taylor will be missed by his parents Randy and Melody, his siblings, Cherae Federico [Brandon], Kara Jeffery [Lance], Ben Olson [Kelli], his fiancĂ© Shannon Hart, and nine nieces and nephews who loved him. Married Tara Bryner later divorced. We welcome family and friends to join us as we remember Tayler on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 from 6 to 8pm and on Thursday, May 9 from 10 to 10:45am.  Funeral services will follow on Friday, May 10th at 11. All will be held at the LDS church located at 2375 E 3225 N in Layton.  In lieu of flowers the family has a memorial fund in his name, The Tayler Olson Memorial Fund, at Wells Fargo Bank, Account # 2188607499. We will always love you Tay!

February, March, April (a slacker, me? Nah, I dont think so!)

Holy crackers!!! I m such a slacker lately! I have no excuse really. I'd rather work on projects and stuff instead of sitting in front of my computer updating my blog. But I really want to keep up with it. Even if it's just for our own little "family records" I want our story written down somewhere. I guess this is turning into a journal of some sort.
Anyways, Lots of things happened like usual. Lots of traveling, lots of visitors over. Lots of family, lots of friends, lots of fun!
We remodeled our kitchen! We are so happy with the results! That was one of the biggest changes we wanted done in the house and it's finally all done!
Before

AFTER

Thats the in-between...not so exciting;)

We don't go as much as we use to to IT'Z but it's still fun once in a while

More hang out time!

Naked boy!

The boys always spoil me on a daily basis. This Valentines
day was no exception. I'm one lucky girl!

March was quite the month for us. We tried to go to Utah on 2 different weekends. Both times we had snow/blizzard storms so we couldnt get there. We got in a car crash, rented a car, took off and drove as far as we could despite the weather and still couldnt make it. When we were about to get through the mountains we had to turn around cause everything was closed. We tried so very hard. Gage was leaving for his mission at the end of Mach and we COULDN'T let him go without seeing him. But in the end we HAD to. It made us appreciate that much more that we got to spend a whole week with him on the cruise. Thank goodness for that!:)
Here's a -very poor quality- picture of Gage when I first met the whole familia (see? my spanish is great too right?;)) He was so little; still just a boy. It wasnt hard to see that he'd be a great friend down the road too.

Elder Gage Thomas ready to go. Not such a little boy anymore is he? And as crazy as it is, he already has changed SO much since then!

We had Easter with our "Newbies" friends of course. We had
a blast as usual!

Since its been about a year now that I've had red hair I was starting to think that maybe I should go brown again...or maybe black. But then at the park the other day the sun was shining through my hair and helped me decide to keep it that way a little longer;)
PARK TIME!
