November is always so super full and fun for us! We're barely taking Halloween down that we have to get ready for Thanksgiving and for Josan's birthday. This year wasn't any different. Except that we all felt a sadness coming with each celebration that we had. Personally, I had never had Thanksgiving here in the States until I met Adam (and the whole family) for the first time 9 years ago. To me, Thanksgiving was not Thanksgiving if Mom wasn't around. That's exactly how it felt like this year. Mom wasn't around, and something was definitely off without her. We all did our best to fill her shoes but, to be honest, the only one that could do it that good was her. Josan's birthday wasn't the same either. He didn't get his live version of the birthday monkey song that Mom would always sing. We are all getting use to her being gone. But some times are harder than others to get through.
Gotto have a quick picture of Josan's Halloween haul.
On November 4th, 4 of Cecily's aunts took her out to lunch to celebrate her birthday.
16 years old! That's insane! This girl can now drive (well...kinda...;)) and date legally! That's quite something! She is such a fun, sweet, responsible and gorgeous girl! I just love her!
Then that night we got together with the Mills cousins. There was supposed to be a lot more of us but there was a lot of last minute stuff and it ended up just the few of us. It was still so nice to catch up and the food was delicious.
Josan keeps on being a father's dream. And a mother's really. Adam asked him if he would like to play basketball and, of course he did. Being a perfectionist just like his mother, he was frustrated at first; he had never played before and was not as good as he would have liked. After a practice or two, he ended up in the top 3 players of his team. He learns so fast! It doesn't matter what he tries; if it has anything to do with sports he's just a natural at it. He's so amazing!
We've been trying to take bump pictures regularly but to be honest we haven't been doing as good as I would have liked. When you wait for something (or someone) for as long as 6 years you document it as much as possible! 3 months prego and definitely starting to show!
I don't think Josan realizes just how lucky he is. Adam's job allows him to do a lot more than other dads can. He can occasionally go in late and come to school programs, field trips and activities like this one; Daddy/doughnuts day. They both loved it!
Little trip at Dad's. The boys (and girls) had such a good time as usual. But to be honest it wasn't quite as nice for me. I have been pretty ok being in the house without feeling my cat allergies too much. But this time was bad. Really bad. I had been dragging a bad cough before we got there and the allergies just made things 100 times worse. Inhaler, breathing treatments, humidifier...nothing worked. I did get to enjoy some sea food buffet before things got bad though!
Again...just like his dad. Now before anyone freaks out, we know our son, he knows the rules and safety that comes with guns. And never EVER touch them unless we are right there with him.
Tradition oblige...
On November 15th, my brother's girlfriend turned 32. She's just a few months older than I am. I'm always sad when I don't get to celebrate with my family but I sent her a little something and got some pictures to feel sort of close to them too.
Quick ultrasound. The pregnancy has been a little rougher. My confidence isn't the best and the heart burns are through the roof. Once 7 or 8 o'clock hits, I have to have Tums nearby. I love that I'm pregnant. But not really what comes with it.
And a broken ankle appointment...
Josan's birthday festivities started a little early this year. Grandpa decided at the very last minute to come down just in time to make it for Josan's birthday celebration at school. We brought doughnuts for everyone and the class sang happy birthday to him and gave him a present. Then they had Josan sit in front of the class and had his friends ask him questions. It was all pretty cute and Josan was super proud to have his Grandpa there to show him off
After resting for a bit, we took the boy out to dinner at Olive Garden. We all love that place and it was so nice to be the four of us for dinner!
Letters from Canada!!!:)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG BOY!!!
7 years of being blessed with this dude!
Loved to go to church all together while Dad was here
I'm not the biggest sports fanatic but that was cool. We were watching the world series and a Canadiens hockey game at the same time. It was pretty awesome to watch my two favorite sports at once...
Another thing we've been watching too is Dual Survival and Man VS wild. It's really not bad shows; we get to learn the best ways to survive in different situations. Josan started sharpening sticks with a knife to make them sharp and turn them into good hunting tools....
Here he is actually hunting. Mike took him for the first time and he absolutely loved it!
Random cuteness
When I say that our boy is also a mother's dream I mean it; I put a little note in every home lunch that I send to school with him. Well I guess it rubbed up on him. This is the third one he writes me. He'll tell me not to look 'til I come back from dropping him off and here was his cuteness on a paper. I just love him!
2015 school pictures. Holy handsome!!!!
After all the cuteness here's how gross Adam's foot looked after he got his cast off.
Josan in heaven with some of his favorite boys ever!
Ready for Thanksgiving!!!
And that's about it!! :)
